Catering
Although Swedes are known to be "night owls," they actually eat earlier than the French. Lunch is typically light and is eaten between 11 AM and 1 PM, while dinner starts around 5 PM and rarely after 8 PM.
Price: for a lunch set, expect to pay around 80 SEK, and for dinner, a main course will cost between 120 and 220 SEK. Portions are, however, generous.
The price of wine can be expensive due to alcohol regulations, but you can order it by the glass.
Service is included, but it is customary to round up. Note that service is often done at the counter.
When to go?
The best times to visit Stockholm are in spring and summer, when you can enjoy the city's natural beauty and the omnipresent water, which gives it a resort-like atmosphere. Summer is also when the characteristic Scandinavian sunshine takes over. The sun rises very early (around 3:30 AM) and sets very late (around 10 PM).
December is also a great time to visit Stockholm and experience the vibrant Christmas festivities. On the other hand, during the summer, the days are very short, with the sun rising around 9 AM and setting around 3 PM.
As for the climate, in July, the sun and temperatures close to 30°C offer ideal conditions. In winter, temperatures drop below 0°C, but the weather is often dry and clear, providing snow-covered landscapes.
Visit
When visiting, we recommend purchasing your tickets online to avoid queues at major sites in the city, such as the Royal Palace. Additionally, tickets are mandatory for the ABBA Museum (with a specific date and time assigned) and they are cheaper when bought online.
However, some museums and galleries are free: Nationalmuseum, Moderna museet, Historiska museet, etc. The Nobel Museum is free on Fridays from 5 PM to 8 PM, from September to May.
